Ancient Egyptian Lyra

This is an old commission by , back when she was Gis-Likes-tO. It is Lyra's past incarnation, Lyralia who was a Minoan brought to Egypt to be a slave in the Pharaoh's palace (Atem's father's slave that is). She and another Minoan slave named Adicus (Atticus) were freed shortly before the former the Pharaoh died and decided to stay in Egypt since they would be killed if they returned to Crete (they were meant to be sacrifices to the minotaur. Every 10 years, 12 maidens and one youth would be fed to the monster and Lyralia and Adicus had the bad luck to be chosen.) Nubian pirates raided Crete on the day of the sacrifice and all the sacrifices were captured and taken to Egypt. Lyralia and Adicus attracted the attention of the Pharaoh because of their voices and he made them the palace singers.
